Props Experience
Assistant Props Head – The Sarasota Opera – Sarasota, FL
The season consisted of four operas, Lucia di Lammermoor, Carmen, Luisa Miller, and Infadelta Delusa. The Properties Coordinator had a family emergency and left before the season started, leaving me and the stage hand props head to split the responsibilities of coordinator for these repertory performances. I acted as artisan, scenic painter, and props stage crew.
On Call Props Associate – The Home Shopping Network – St. Petersburg, FL
I was responsible for maintaining and delivering all furniture and props for 24/7 Live Broadcast as well as assisting live show with prop needs.
Soft Goods Specialist – Feld Entertainment – Ellenton, FL
I was the soft goods artisan for Disney on Ice, Marvel Universe Live, Jurassic World Live, and the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. I helped to create the new Disney on Ice shows, Frozen & Encanto, Magic In the Stars, and the new Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey, as well as refurbed and remade props for several others. A large part of the position was working on the florals and foliage, as well as the curtains and upholstery.
Project Team Leader – UNCSA – Winston-Salem, NC
I lead a team in the clean out of two film prop storage buildings as well as the integration of Film and Design and Production prop storage. I was responsible for the reorganization process to accommodate a growing inventory and the expansion into additional storage space over the course of nine weeks.
Prop Shop Manager – UNCSA – Winston-Salem, NC
I Managed a shop of 37 students in the day to day production process for several plays, a musical, and the winter opera, for which I also was props director, as well as the classes and projects that used the shop. Before I was the manager of the shop, I was the Assistant Prop Shop manager for a semester.
Inventory Manager – UNCSA – Winston-Salem, NC
While streamlining the process of rentals for the school, prop shop, and community, my responsibilities included organization, maintenance and cleanliness of the storage area, as well as all documentation of props leaving and coming into the three storage buildings. Before I was the inventory manager, a position I held for two years, I was the Assistant Inventory manager for a semester.
Prop Shop Purchaser – UNCSA – Winston-Salem, NC
I organized the budget for the Prop Shop and was purchaser for the operation of the shop and for props classes.
Props Director – UNCSA – Winston-Salem, NC
I directed 37 artisans in the production of props for the winter opera, Linda Di Chamounix, designed by Sarah Webster, and in the production of props and dressing for Sweat by Lynn Nottage, designed by Jess Trementozzi. I also began the process of props direction for the spring opera, Terese Raquin, which was canceled due to the onset of COVID.
Production Designer and Props Master – Remember Tommy Productions – Richmond, VA
I am credited in several productions with this Richmond, VA based independent film company including: People Don’t Die in the Comics Anymore, various shorts, and two episodes of Nick Triumph and the Paci-Fist.
Props Master and Artisan – Virginia Repertory Theatre – Richmond, VA
I was responsible for the props inventory, Educational shows, touring productions, productions in the Children’s Theater at Willow Lawn, the Hanover Tavern Theater, and the November Theater. I was also the Props Director and Designer for 20+ shows while working full time there. My favorite productions include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, Holmes for the Holidays, and Atlantis. Before becoming the Props Master of the theatre company, I was the props Apprentice, and before that I was the props Intern for eight months.
Artistic Intern – The Bearded Ladies Cabaret – Philadelphia, PA
I worked with this gay cabaret devised theatre group for the summer following my undergraduate graduation. Responsibilities included working with director on new projects and events with a focus on cardboard props. I was a part of the devising process and assisted in the annual Bastille Day production at the Eastern State Penitentiary.
Springville Center for the Arts Summer Intern – Springville, NY
Acting as the teachers, counselors, and technicians, the interns had full control over the season and class selection. I acted asTechnical Director for the company and was the director of the musical Legally Blonde, and Mississippi Melody. Stage Manager of Sleeping Beauty; and taught kids classes for ukulele, stop motion, playwrighting, visual arts.
Graphic Designer – Washington College department of Theatre and Dance – Chestertown, MD
Work with Adobe Suites to design and distribute posters and programs for the Department of Theatre and Dance events
Floral Clerk – Lowes Foods – Clemmons, NC
Working part time while in grad school, I was responsible for the creation and maintenance of Floral Arrangements for customers,Worked closely with customers to accommodate their floral needs for gatherings and events, andFilled orders ahead of time and worked bulk orders with tight deadlines. I also created bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres for weddings and proms.
Cake Decorator – Lowes Foods – Clemmons, NC
Working part time while in grad school, I decorated various baked goods including cupcakes and cakes. I worked both free hand and from stencils to create designs ranging from extravagant to elegant, and was the fastest base-icer in the department. Required adhering to health and safety guidelines to ensure a pleasant, clean, and safe environment for customers and coworkers
