Anna C. Baldwin-Lack

(Also known legally as Anna Lack since my marriage to my life long shop buddy.)

Your Prop Director & Artisan

WITH A VARIETY OF EXPERIENCES in my scrapbook, I will bring a truly unique perspective. From my time working in an archaeology lab as well as my work as a floral clerk and cake decorator while pursuing my MFA, I have a research and hands-on approach to everything I do. My fire spinning hobby also keeps the spark in my life burning.

I received my MFA in Props at UNCSA, after having spent three years in Richmond, VA as an active part of the theatre and independent film community. I have a BA from Washington College in Theatre and English with a business minor (thank you for making me get this, Dad) where I attained a background in stage management and directing which gave me a palette of skills to use as a manager and props director.

All of those skills were put to use particularly well in my last year at UNCSA when I acted as simultaneous Prop Shop Manager, Props Inventory Manager for the School of Design and Production as well as Film, and Props Director of the winter opera, Linda di Chamounix, overseeing a shop of 37 artists and two storage buildings of over 2500 square feet.

“Working with Anna on a months long production was a positive experience that I compare all others against. She is a servant leader and was always guiding others by being the example she knew our potential could reach. I look forward to the next project I get to work on with Anna!”

As you can probably tell, I like to keep busy.  I have always been an advocate of a full schedule and responsibility, with a drive to excel. I did the same thing in my last year at Washington College when I decided to turn my Directing Capstone Thesis Project into a brand new audience experience. I wrote and directed it with a team of collaborators while also designing and propping several of my fellow seniors’ theses productions and writing an English thesis about Merlin that ended up around 75 pages long.

Fascinated with learning, I pick up new skills as an artist wherever I can. I have worked as an archaeologist, cake decorator, and florist, showing my evolving interests and toolkit. The creation of new worlds brings me joy and pride that drives my life and imagination.
